ART OF COMPROMISE
Collection
This is my first collection since becoming a full time artist. I have been painting for over a decade, but truly have never felt like I have had the time to paint for me. To tell my own story. This collection is called “The Art of Compromise” and inspired after my husband Taylor Ellis and our life. We were married in December. Our favorite thing to do is spend time outside together. He is an avid outdoorsman and I just love nature and wildlife in general. After getting married, we have become very acquainted with compromise when decorating our home. He loves all of his wild game mounts, however, that is not my idea of design. This collection is all about the beauty in our Eastern North Carolina nature, with elements that Taylor and I have both grown to love together. I have incorporated color, pattern and design into some of the most beautiful wildlife my Eastern NC home has to offer. While painting this collection I realized the gifts our nature and the culture of hunting and fishing has given back to us. Each painting has a story and meaning. I went into this collection with more of a design eye, but came out the other side appreciating so much more than that.
